The Chevy Silverado is one of the best-selling trucks in America, and it's one of the most popular platforms for leveling kit upgrades. Whether you're driving a 2014 Silverado 1500 or a brand-new 2025 model, leveling the front of your truck is one of the simplest and most effective modifications you can make.
Like most full-size trucks, the Silverado comes from the factory with a slight nose-down rake — typically 1 to 1.5 inches. GM engineers spec this rake to account for the compression that occurs when hauling heavy payloads or towing a trailer. When your truck is empty, that rake makes it look uneven. A leveling kit corrects this by adding 1.5" to 2.5" of lift at the front strut, bringing the front up to match the rear.
For the Silverado 1500 (which uses a coilover/strut front suspension), strut spacer leveling kits are the most common and practical choice. Common lift heights: 1.5" leveling kit — minimal lift, corrects rake with the least impact on suspension geometry. 2" leveling kit — the most popular option; allows 33" tires on most Silverado configurations. 2.5" leveling kit — maximum leveling for a true flat stance; allows 33"–34" tires.
Stock configurations typically come with 265/65R18 or 275/60R20 tires. With a leveling kit: 1.5" level — up to 32" tires (265/70R17) with minor offset adjustments. 2" level — 33" tires (275/70R18, 285/70R17) on most Silverado trims. 2.5" level — 33"–34" tires with standard aftermarket wheels. Wheel offset is important — most Silverado owners running 33s use -12 to -25mm offset wheels.
